The Yeosu Expo is very interesting.
CNNGO cited Yeosu Expo as one of the top places to visit and stated that it is the most stylish and sophisticated of world fairs yet. So, we recommend that you
visit there. It will be a great experience to visit this once in a lifetime
expo in your home country.
Transportation
& ticket
You can get to Yeosu Expo
by train. Getting there by train is more convenient than any other type of
transportation, because you can go directly - saving time and money.
You need to buy a ticket to enter the Expo. Because
you are college students, the ticket is much cheaper than it is for adults. This
is the graph of the ticket fees.
Accommodation
You
have to stay in Yeosu or Suncheon for two days, so you’ll need somewhere to
sleep. If your accommodation is convenient, well-priced and accessibility is
also good, you can enjoy the trip much better.
There
are many options but we liked these two :
☞Gasari Flower pension
Classical
decorations and beds with canopies are favorites among female guests. Two rooms
(hyanggi and kkotdeul) have large terraces where you can enjoy great views. The
pension offers 2-story rooms and family-size rooms. Guests can enjoy tea at the
café or rice wine in the gazebo. Ms. Kim is known for her generosity, often
giving guests vegetables from her garden and homemade kimchi as gifts.
☞ Bellagio tourist Hotel.
The hotel is located in central downtown Yeosu with easy access to
public transportation, making it very convenient to visit most of the tourist
spots in the city.
Pavilions & Attractions from A to Z
In Yeosu EXPO, there are so many pavilions, so we
selected some places that are popular to bloggers. If you want more information, please check the EXPO website!
Things you can find only at Yeosu Expo!
EXPO Eco-friendly Thematic Facilities
The 4 thematic
facilities are regarded as the landmarks of Yeosu EXPO. They are also very
popular to bloggers.
1. The Big-O, using nature as a stage
On the Big-O Floating Stage, the Ocean Show will be presented for 70 minutes at 2 pm, World Ocean Festival at 7:30 pm, and the Big-O Show at 9:30 pm. You don't want to miss any of these shows, performed at the heart of the Expo site.
2. Expo Digital Gallery featuring gigantic LED screens
The large screen installed on the
ceiling of the passageway of the International Pavilion displays various forms
of marine life as well as short movies about Korean folklore topics such as “The
Life of Shim-Cheong,”
and “The Four
Guardian Gods of the King”
along with children's paintings of Korea, China and Japan that represent the
theme of Expo.
3. A rebirth of abandoned silos, the Sky Tower
The Sky Tower is a symbolic
construction made by transforming a pair of abandoned silos into a beautiful
artistic masterpiece.
The Sky Tower’s observation deck is located on the highest place of whole Expo site. It is definitely the best place to take commemorative photos with the Expo site as a backdrop!
The Sky Tower pipe organ, made of 80 boat horn pipes, will be played live six times a day, delivering the national anthems of participating countries and other tunes.
At the Sky Tower, you can learn the principle of seawater desalination and taste the seawater which has become drinkable. An extraordinary experience!

4. Eco-friendly aquarium where you can meet Russian belugas
It is the biggest aquarium in
Korea, where you can observe 34,000 marine animals from 281 species including
rare species such as Baikal seal and Russian beluga. The Aquarium consists of a
360 degree 'Aquadome' and a large-sized water tank, in which about 20,000
sardines move around. The Aquarium also has a 3-D theater, equipped with 41
separately operated seats, that displays a thrilling 3-D animation of small
fishes’ running
away from a shark.
We gather here from all
over the world!
International Pavilion
The International Pavilion is located at the
center of the Expo site and east of the Yeosu Expo Station. The International Pavilion offers food from many different
countries as if you are traveling around the world. But, there are so many nations (over 100), so
we selected the most popular International
Pavilions for you!
